Physician Peer Coach
Dr. Sarah Samaan (Frisco, Texas) is a retired cardiologist and has been a Peer Coach with VITAL WorkLife since 2024. She received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and her residency in Internal Medicine from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Samaan completed her Fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. In addition to board certification in Cardiology, she was also board certified in Echocardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. She received her Master Certified Physician Development Coach from the Physician Coaching Institute and has additional coaching certification in Time Management and Mindfulness. Dr. Samaan completed the Enhanced Stress Resilience Training course through the Center for Mindfulness in Surgery at UCSF in 2025. She is the owner of Mindful Physician Coaching, where she empowers and equips high-achieving physicians to confidently navigate professional transitions, work/life balance, and purposeful retirement.
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Samaan practiced Cardiology serving more than 15 years as Co-Director of a high-volume echocardiography laboratory, and held leadership positions, including Chief of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology, at several local hospitals. Having benefited from coaching during her transition to retirement from medical practice, she knows firsthand that coaching is both empowering and self-affirming.
Dr. Samaan specializes in working with physicians seeking clarity on their future paths, leadership development, time management, crucial conversations, work/life balance, physician burnout, purposeful retirement preparation, and women in medicine.
